Come and say Hello!
EMOTIONS DISCOVERY over the Summer
Coventry HAF Programme
I had the pleasure of delivering FIVE stand-alone sessions for over 100 children attending holiday clubs provided by OnSide Coaching at two different venues.
We explored the following emotions;
- Energetic
- Considerate
- Attached
- Friendly
- Contented
Here are some of their creative representations...
What the organisers said...
All children participated and could talk about the chosen feeling by the end of the session, all children had a better understanding and were able to take their picture away.
Children loved the art and sharing their stories.
Trish adapted her sessions well to the younger age group which had changed that morning. Trish dealt with the different behaviours, keeping all children's attention and on task.
REAL Weekend
I attended Meredith Road Baptist Church's REAL Weekend for young people.
It was a fabulous and rare opportunity to combine Emotions Discovery wellbeing with Christian faith as we explored the emotion of Trusting.
Here are some of their creative representations (which were then used to inspire some of the content on a mural inside one of the church halls)...
New Podcast OUT NOW!
I recently recorded a Podcast with Melanie Davis from Ward & Rider, discussing how the emotional trauma of divorce can affect all family members.

Proud to be a Charity Trustee.
I am proud to be a Trustee for this local Coventry charity. It is my way of giving back to my community.
You can help the charity in a number of ways including using their soft play centre and Party facilities.
We, like many other charities, are looking for additional trustees to help us (voluntary role) particularly if you have experience in finance, insurance or IT, and have a genuine interest in supporting disabled children. Please get in touch to arrange a no-obligation chat.

My Work With Older People
Many older adults feel isolated and lonely. They may withdraw from society due to narrowing social circles or health issues. Drawing & Talking is attachment-based work which helps to build and reconnect relationships, therefore helping to relieve that feeling of loneliness.
Drawing and Talking moves the client’s attention from their external to their internal world. The process allows the environment around them to seem safer and more secure. This can also create a sense of belonging which can often be lost as a person becomes older.
Drawing and Talking supports older adults to process emotional pain due to past or more recent traumas, such as adapting to a new way of life, financial worries or bereavement. It is an intervention which helps older adults feel heard and understood, in addition to having their emotional needs met.
Drawing and Talking empowers older adults to explore and express their creativity. This can build self-esteem and provide a sense of accomplishment. Drawing and Talking works at the individual’s own pace in a gentle and relaxing way.
The flexibility of Drawing and Talking allows it to be delivered in someone’s own home, a group, or community setting. In a care home it can be delivered in someone’s room, should they feel more comfortable there - or in a communal space.
Families feel supported and experience building upon and maintaining connections with their loved ones. Offering Drawing and Talking as a service promotes values of person-centred care and the accommodating of all aspects of care.
Drawing and Talking can be used with those living with mild to moderate dementia because we are not working with the cognitive logical part of the brain but the unconscious emotional part which is the last area of memory to fade.
